Falconry is an age old tradition which dates back thousands of years. The true definition of falconry is the hunting of wild quarry in it's natural state using a trained bird of prey. Modern falconry is gaining in popularity and is now more accessible then ever before. However falconry is a lifestyle commitment which should not be entered into lightly therefore it is highly recommended for anyone wishing to practice falconry to take a course.

Our 2 day Introduction to Falconry is designed to give you an insight into the fascinating world of falconry and training birds of prey. Whether you're serious about owning and training your own bird for hunting, interested in pursuing a career in falconry or bird training or just wish to gain some knowledge and enjoy some close contact with raptors, this 2 day course will give you everything you need.

Drawing from over 40 years experience as practicing and professional falconers and bird trainers, we will guide you through the basic principles of falconry.

We will cover subjects such as:

  • Falconry history
  • Birds used for Falconry
  • Bird of Prey Management and Husbandry
  • Species used
  • Essential falconry equipment
  • Picking up and carrying
